1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine or butter, softened
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cold water
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
2 teaspoons caraway or poppy seed

Directions:
Heat oven to 425°. Mix onion and 1/4 cup margarine; reserve. Mix baking mix, cheese and cold water until soft dough forms; beat vigorously 20 strokes. Gently shape dough into ball on floured cloth-covered surface. Knead 5 times.
Roll dough into rectangle, 15x12 inches. Spread reserved onion mixture lengthwise down center of rectangle. Fold dough lengthwise over filling into thirds; flatten slightly. Cut crosswise into about twenty 3/4-inch strips. Twist ends of strips in opposite directions.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet; press ends onto cookie sheet to fasten securely. Brush with melted margarine. Sprinkle with caraway seed. Bake about 10 minutes or until light brown. Serve immediately.
