Mix together:
3 c flour
2 c brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
cinnamon
Work in 1/2 c shortening.
Take out 1 c crumbs to save for topping.
Beat 2 eggs to add to above mixture and dissolve 1 tsp. soda in 1 c sour milk to add.
Add salt and vanilla and place mixture in pan.
Sprinkle crumbs over batter.

Bake in moderate oven.
