2 cups flour
1 cup sugar or ½ cup honey
1½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 orange
2 Tbsp. shortening
boiling water
1 egg - well beaten
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup cranberries, cut in half

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt.
Combine juice and grated rind of orange with shortening and add boiling water to make 3/4 Cup. Add beaten egg.
Combine wet and dry elements.
Add nuts and cranberries.
Pour into 8 1/2" X 4 1/2" X 3" loaf pan.
Let stand at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Bake at 350º for 60-70 minutes.
