1 bag spinach
1/2 lb strawberries, washed and sliced
1 small red onion, sliced

dressing:
1/4 c vegetable oil
3 T vinegar
1 T white sugar
1 tsp poppy seeds
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp salt

Optional Garnish:
1/2 c sliced almonds
4 T white sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix salad ingredients and refridgerate until serving time. Stir all dressing ingredients together, adding oil last to ensure proper mixing.

Almonds:
Place sliced almonds and sugar over low heat in a non-stick skillet. Stir as sugar begins to melt to cover all almonds. Once suger is melted, remove from heat to cool before serving.

Dress salad before serving, and garnish with candied almonds (optional)
