2 c unseasoned dry bread crumbs
1/2 c chopped onion
1/4 c chopped fresh parsley
3 tbsp chopped fresh sage or 1 tsp rubbed dry sage
1 egg, beaten
1 roasting chicken (3-4 lbs)
melted butter or margarine

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl combine bread cubes, onions, parsley, sage, and egg. Add enough broth until stuffing is moistened and holds together. Stuff loosely into chicken. Fasten with skewers to close. Place the breast side up on a shallow rack in a roasting pan. Brush with butter, bake uncovered at 375º for 1 3/4 to 2 1/4 hours or until juice runs clear. Baste several times with pan juices or butter. Prepare gravy if desired. Serves: 6
