1/4 lb. butter
1 cup sugar,
5 egg yolks + 1 whole egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk
2 cups cake flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º, grease and flour 2 cake pans. Cream butter and sugar, beat until light. Add the egg yolks and beat well, add whole egg, vanilla, milk, beat well. Combine dry ingredients to first mixture, beat until smooth. Spread into pans and bake 20-25 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans 5 minutes, then turn out on wire rack. Lord Baltimore FILLING: 1/2 cup dry macaroon crumbs, 1/4 cup chopped, pecans, 1/4 cup almonds, 12 candied cherries cut in fourths, 2 tsp lemon juice; mix with 1/2 recipe 7 Minute Frosting. Frost bottom with filling, top and sides with reserved 1/2 of 7-minute frosting. Place pecans or cherries on top or use both or choose own decorations.
