Arrange fresh sliced peached in a pastry lined pie pan.

Sprinkle over peaches:
1/2 c sugar
1/2 nutmeg if desired

Beat together, then pour over sugared peaches:
1 egg
2 T cream

Mix together until crumbly:
1/4 c brown sugar
1/4 c butter
1/2 c flour

Sprinkle over filling.

Bake 35-45 minutes at 425 degrees.

The pie maker will determine how many peaches to use, based on pie shell size. As some peaches can be very juicy, it would be best not to fill the shell too full causing it to bake over.

Can take up to an hour to prepare with making shell and peeling peaches.

This was a favorite from the farm kitchen, especially during peach season when the fruit was tree ripened and fresh. Canned peaches can be used with modifications on the sugar.
