1 pkg 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate pieces, divided
1/2 c margarine or butter, softened
1/2 c sugar
1 egg
1/4 c all purpose flour
3/4 c quaker oats, uncooked
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Melt 1 c chocolate pieces in small saucepan; set aside. Beat margarine and sugar until fluffy; add melted chocolate, egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Stir in remaining chocolate pieces. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rake. Yield: 36
