6-8 large cabbage leaves
1 uncooked cup rice
1/2 lb. uncooked sausage meat
1/2 lb. uncooked ground beef
1 med to large onion, finely chopped
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 cup sauerkraut, rinsed
Smoked sausage cut into pieces

Sauce:
2½ cups canned tomatoes (stewed may be used)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup water
1 can tomato sauce
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Cook cabbage leaves 3 to 4 minutes and drain and place on paper towels.
Mix other ingredients and place in cabbage leaves and roll.
Place 1/2 of sauerkraut on bottom of baking dish.
Place cabbage rolls on top and cover with sauce, smoked sausage and remaining sauerkraut.
Bake, covered, for 1 hour in 375º oven.
Uncover and bake an additional 1/2 hour.

This hearty dish will satisfy anyone's hunger so much so that he will find himself asleep on the couch within twenty minutes of eating.
