2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. margarine
4 eggs, separated
3/4 tsp. orange or vanilla flavoring
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
3 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, salt and margarine in large mixing bowl. Beat egg yolks into creamed mixture, one at the time, until light and fluffy. Add flavoring. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add flour and milk alternately to creamed mixture, blending well after each addition. Beat egg whites at highest speed, until stiff but not dry. Gently fold whites into batter. Turn into 3 paper lined or greased and floured round pans. Bake at 350 about 35 minutes. Makes 3 nice layers. If you use 2 pans, bake 40 or 45 minutes.
