6 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 T. vanilla extract
3 c. milk
18 slices bread
1 c. raisins
nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 3-qt. baking pan. Beat eggs well. Add sugar, vanilla and milk. Pour into prepared pan. Tear up 1/2 of the bread and add to the pan pushing the pieces down into the milk mixture. Sprinkle raisins over top then sprinkle with nutmeg. Tear up and add remaining bread again pushing down into the pudding mixture. Be sure all the raisins are submerged to keep them from burning. Sprinke again with nutmeg. Bake at 350º for 2 hours until brown and center is set.

Use any type of bread desired. If using raisin bread, you may omit extra raisins.
