1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
3 eggs beaten well
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 3/4 cup oatmeal blended
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp soft butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugars, shortening, margarine, eggs, and vanilla in large mixer bowl. Beat until creamy and fluffy. Mix flour, oatmeal, soda, and spices together and add to butter mixture; mix well, drop by spoonfuls on greased baking sheets. In preheated oven set at 350º; bake for 8 minutes or until light brown. Cool and frost.
FROSTING: Mix soft butter and powdered sugar, adding enough water or milk to make a thin frosting. Brush tops of cooled cookies lightly; let set and store. Yield: 48 Prep: 15 min.
