1/3 C shortening
1 C sugar
1 egg
1/2 C milk
1 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 C flour
1/2 tsp salt
4 tsp baking powder
2 tsp flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup dates

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugar, egg, milk and vanilla. Add 3 1/2 C flour, salt and baking powder sifted together. Roll out then and cut with cookie cutter. Place 1 tsp filling on each cookie and cover with another cookie. Press edges together.
Filling:
Cook 2 tsp flour, 1/2 cup sugar, raisins and dates together until thick. Add 1/2 cup water.

Bake at 350º 10 to 12 minutes.
