1 T. butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all together in a paste. Add 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 c. nuts and 1/2 cup raisins or dates. Pour into greased loaf pan.
In a saucepan mix 1 c. brown sugar, 2 T. butter and 2 c. boiling water. Blend and pour over the batter in the loaf pan.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes . Serve hot or cold with whipped cream.
