1 cup butter or 7/8 cup solid, all-vegetable shortening
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped nuts
Directions:
Directions:
In the large bowl of an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Gradually work in salt and flour. Press dough into a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jellyroll pan. Sprinkle nuts on top, pressing nuts into dough with fingertips. Bake at 300º for 30 minutes. Let cool and cut into squares or strips.
