1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup molasses
3/4 cup hot water
2-1/2 cups flour
1-1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whipping cream
1 - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Cream butter & sugar for 3 minutes, add eggs & beat on low for 2 minutes. Gradually add molasses & hot water. Combine dry ingredients & add gradually to creamed mixture. Beat on low for 1 minute. Pour into a greased 9"x13" pan. Bake @ 350 for 30 - 35 minutes. Beat cream and powdered sugar to soft peaks. Serve on cake.
