2 cups yellow corn meal
2 tsp baking soda
1 sp salt
1 can cream style corn
1 cup milk
2 eggs slightly beaten
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 lb ground chuck
2 cups grated cheese
1 small onion, chopped
dash of pepper

combine first 7 ingredients in a bowl and set aside. Cook beef until browned, drain well and set aside. Pour half of cornmeal mixture into a greased 10 1/2 inch cast iron skillet. Sprinkle evenly with beef. Top with cheese, onion and pepper. Pour remaining batter over top. Bake 350 for 40-50 mins.
