1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
1 tbsp. cooking oil

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients.
Combine other ingredients and stir into dry mixture. If batter is not smooth, strain.

Heat rosette iron in deep fat (400º). Drain iron on absorbent paper when hot. Dip iron 2/3 into batter, then immerse in deep fat until rosette is brown.

Remove rosette from iron. Drain on absorbent paper.

Serve with powdered sugar, colored granulated sugar or use as a base for fruit-topped ice cream.
