7 lbs. Cucumber Sticks
5 lbs Sugar
1 gal. Water
1 C. Lime (slack)
1 qt. White Vinegar
1 T. Celery Seed
1 T. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cukes that are too large or too ripe may be used in this recipe. First peel and cut each cucumber lengthwise and scoop out seeds with a spoon. Then slice into strips about the size of your finger and cut to desired length.
Dissolve the lime in water. Soak overnight in the lime water, then wash until water in clear.
Mix and heat the vinegar, sugar and spices, pour over cukes and let set until next morning. Then let them simmer until cukes are clear, takes about 30 minutes. Life up pickles from bottom of kettle with a spoon so as to heat evenly. Put in jars and seal.
They are wonderful.
