1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 c. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
5 c. flour
granulated sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Crean butter with powdered sugar and 1 c. granulated sugar. Beat in eggs until smooth. Slowly stir in oil, vanilla, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and flour. Chill for easy handling. Shape into walnut size balls. Dip in sugar and place on cookie sheet and press down. Bake at 350 10-12 minutes. You can put a Hershey kiss or large chocolate chip in the center in you wish.

Makes about 4 dozen.

I use the bottom of a glass to press them down, and I usually get about 80 cookies from a batch.
