1 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
1 cup eggs (about 5)
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp lemon extract
3 cups all purpose flour
1 7oz bottle of lemon flavored carbonated beverage
confectioners sugar

Directions:
Heat oven to 325º. Grease a tube pan. Work the butter and shortening together in a large mixing bowl until creamy; add sugar and beat till fluffy; add eggs and beat at medium speed until well blended; add salt, vanilla, and lemon extract. Gradually add flour, alternating with the lemon flavored drink, beating well after each addition. Pour into pan and bake for 80-85 minutes, cool 10 minutes after removing from oven, then cut carefully around cake and invert on to a wire rack. Completely cool and sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Serves: 10-12 Prep: 20-30 min.
