1 to 1 1/2 Ibs. ground beef
1 onion
small to med. yellow squash
1/4 Ib. Velveeta or sliced cheese
salt and pepper to taste
crushed plain potato chips
1/2 stick butter, add to squash, before you mash.

Cook ground beef and onion together, drain well. Scrub and wash squash and slice enough to fill a 2 1/2 qt pan, cover the top with enough water to cook squash, cook till tender and done. Cook all the water out or pour the rest out, cut the cheese up in the squash, let melt, mash squash with potato masher salt and pepper everything to taste. Put a layer of squash in bottom of casserole dish, then a layer of ground beef, repeat until its all gone. Put crushed plain chips on top. Bake in 350º oven till bubbily.
