1/2 head red cabbage
2 small red or green apples
1/2 sliced onion
2 T brown sugar
1/3 c vinegar
I like some bacon in there too.

Directions:
Directions:
Slice cabbage, apples and onions. Layer in medium saucepan. In a measuring cup add sugar, vinegar and enough water to make a cup. Pour mixture over cabbage mixture. Simmer for 2 hours, adding water if it starts to get dry. If you want the bacon, put it in towards the end. My grandma Monrean liked it with pot roast.
