2/3 cup oleo
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
2 cup flour
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup chopped dates



TOPPING:

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Beat butter and sugar until creamy...beat in eggs -- combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mix - alternately with buttermilk. Fold in dates and pour into greased 9x13 pan. Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350º 45-50 minutes. Batter may be prepared the night before and kept tightly covered in refrigerator.
