1 cup sugar
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sour milk - Add 1 tsp vinegar to the milk and it makes it curdle.
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
3 bananas, mashed
1 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together, pour into a large loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. (or until crack in the bread is dry looking)

This recipe has won many 4-H grand champion ribbons among the girls in my neighborhood when I was a young girl.
