1 lb. Okra Pods (stem end cut off)
Salt
Cold Water
Corn Meal

Directions:
Directions:
Slice okra about 1/4 inch thick, put sliced okra in a bowl, sprinkle with salt and cover with very cold water. Refrigerate for at least one hour.
Drain. Season cornmeal with salt and pepper, roll slices in cornmeal until well coated.
Fry in hot oil about 1/2 inch deep until browned and crisp. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
