Cake:
1 cup butter 2 cups sugar
3 eggs 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup blackberry jam 1 cup buttermilk
1 cup grated coconut 1 tsp soda
1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp allspice
1 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans 1 tsp. salt

Filling:
1 cup milk 1 1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. flour
2 eggs
1 cup pecans
1 cup coconut
1 tsp vanilla

Icing:
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar (light)
1/4 cup milk
confectioners sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, one at a time. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Sift together flour, spices and salt. Add to creamed mixture along with buttermilk and soda. Add jam, coconut, vanilla and nuts. Mix well and bake in 3 (9 inch) layer pans at 350 degrees.

Filling: Mix milk, sugar, flour and eggs and cook until thick. Add other ingredients and spread between layers.

Icing: Mix first 3 ingredients well. Then add enough confectioners sugar to make spreading consistency.
