Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. onion finely chopped
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl mix together all the ingredients. A good way to do this is to use two forks as if you are tossing a salad. Divide the mixture into 4 portions and using your hands, gently shape into 4 patties about 3/4 inch thick.

Heat the frying pan over medium-high heat until it is very hot. Place the patties in the pan and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the bottoms are nicely browned. Turn and cook on the other side for 3-4 minutes or until done the way you like them - check the doneness with the tip of a knife if necessary. Serve the burgers just as they are or on a toasted bun with a slice of tomato, slice of onion, a slice of cheese, and a leaf of lettuce. However you serve it, don't forget the ketchup.
