1/2 lb. butter
1lb. Filo pastry
2c. walnuts, chopped
3 tbsp. sugar

Directions:

1. In a small bowl combine nuts and sugar.
Brush baking dish (about 12x18 inches) with butter.
2. Place 1 pastry sheet in pan, brush with butter. Continue 8-10 layers.
3. Spread walnut mixture evenly over top sheet. Cover with remaining pastry sheets.
4. Butter each layer. Be sure to butter last sheet. Cut diagonal lines down and across to form diamond shaped pieces.
5. Bake in preheated oven (350º F) for 30 minutes. Increase heat to 450º F and bake 5-10 more minutes, until pastry puffs are a light golden color. While it is still hot pour atter syrup over it.
