2 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 sq unsweetened chocolate
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup nuts
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt the chocolate and shortening together -- beat the eggs and gradually add the sugar -- add chocolate mixture to this -- then add flour, baking powder, salt, nuts and vanilla and pour into 9x9 pan--bake about 20 minutes at 350º.

I usually double this for 9x13 pan -- also frost with this: 1 sq unsweetened chocolate, melted with 2 T oleo, 3 T milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla -- add about a cup and 1/2 powdered sugar...beat hard then pour over hot cake.
