3 cups flour
2 tablespoons lime rind, grated
1 cup sugar (for batter)
1 egg
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
5 teaspoons butter
¼ teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons lime juice
1 pkg. almonds (3 ounces), sliced & blanched
2 tablespoons sugar (for topping)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1 cup sugar, powder, salt and soda. Stir in ¾ of almonds and 1 tablespoon lime rind. In bowl beat eggs and add milk. Stir in 4 tablespoons Butter and 2 tablespoons lime juice. Add to dry ingredients and stir until moistened. Spoon into greased pan. Combine remaining almonds and 1 tablespoon Melted butter wit 2 tablespoons Sugar and spread this mixture over batter. Bake at 350° for 70 minutes or until done. When done cool enough to take out of pan and drizzle remaining 1 tablespoon Lime juice over bread. Then sprinkle remaining rind on top. Store overnight to allow to mellow.
