3 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sour milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
In a separate bowl cream shortening and sugar together. Beat until light and fluffy. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract.
Alternately add sifted dry ingredients and sour milk to the egg mixture. Mix well. Drop by tablespoonful onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in a moderate oven (350ºF) for 10-11 minutes.
