1 can sweetened condensed milk)
1 1/2 c. Karo Syrup
1 c. butter
2 c. white sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black food coloring
3/4 tsp. licorice oil or Anise extract

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all in ingredients in heavy sauce pan EXCEPT licorice oil or Anise and food color.
Cook, stirring until mixture boils. Cook to soft ball stage on candy themometer 234º F. DO NOT OVERCOOK. Remove from heat and stir in licorice oil or Anise and food coloring. Pour into 9 X 13 buttered dish. Cool. Cut into squares, wrap in wax paper.
