1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
1/3 cup light cream
1/3 cup milk
2 Tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugars, cream, milk and buter in a heavy 3 quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a boil. Cook to soft ball stage without stirring (238F) Remove from heat and let cool to lukewarm (110F) Add vanilla; beat vigorously until mixture thickens and begins to lose its gloss. Stir in chopped nuts and spread quickly into a buttered 8x8 pan.
