Ingredients:
1 cup ground cinnamon,
1 t ground allspice,
1 t ground cloves,
1 t ground nutmeg,
1 cup apple sauce.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together dry ingredients. Add a little apple sauce at a time. It should have the consistency of playdough. So you can work it with your hands. If mixture is too dry add 1 to 2 tablespoons apple sauce. Roll dough out 1/4" thickness. If mixture is too sticky to handle sprinkle working surface and dough with ground cinnamon. Use sharp edge cookie cutters to cut out as desired. Place on level surface to dry. Air dry 4 to 5 days. Makes about 2 dozen.
A fine wire from a craft shop can be cut in short pieces, bent into an inverted 1" shape, and inserted at top of each ornament before drying to serve as a hanger for yarn or ribbon. Ornaments lighten in color as they dry.
