1 lb. - fresh green beans
4 T. - vegetable oil
1 T. - whole black mustard seeds
4 - cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. - salt
½ tsp. - sugar
black pepper, freshly ground

Directions:
Directions:
Trim beans and cut into 1 inch lengths. Blanch beans by dropping into a pot of boiling water and boil rapidly for 3 to 4 minutes or until just tender. Drain and rinse under cold water, set aside. Heat the oil in large frying pan over medium heat. When hot, add mustard seeds. As soon as the mustard seeds begin to pop add the garlic. Stir until garlic is lightly browned. Add green beans, salt and sugar and turn heat to medium low. Stir and cook for 7 to 8 minutes, add black pepper.
