1 1/2 tsp cloves
1 large onion, diced
1 1/2 tsp garlic, chopped
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger (or paste)
3 fresh jalapeño peppers, finely chopped
1/3 cup olive oil
3 cup basmati or jasmine rice
5 1/2 cups water
6 bay leaves
1 1/2 cup peas
1/3 cup fresh mint, chopped
1 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Sauté cloves, onion, ginger, garlic and peppers in olive oil until onion is translucent. Take care that the cloves do not burn. Add rice. Continue to sauté until rice is warmed and begins to turn opaque. Place in rice cooker. Add water and bay leaves. Cook for 30 minutes. Add peas and mint and continue cooking until cooker's cycle is complete. Stir with rice paddle or non-metallic serving utensil and serve.
