5 slices of bacon, cubed
3 lb. stew meat, cubed
Olive oil
4 medium onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 T Paprika Hungarian Sweet (or 5 T)
1 1/2- 3 tsp. carraway seed
1/3 cup flour
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup tomato paste
5 cups beef broth
5 cups water (add more as needed)
2-3 tsp. salt
2 red bell peppers, chopped fine
4 large potatoes (2.5 lbs.) chopped

In a large pot cook bacon and remove.

Brown beef in the pot and remove

Add oil, onion, garlic and cook until golden.

Stir in paprika, carraway, flour and stir 2 minutes.

Whisk in vinegar and tomato paste for 1 minute.

Stir in broth, water, bell pepper, bacon and beef. Bring to a boil,
simmer covered for 45 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Add potatoes and simmer for 30 minutes, covered until tender.

Add salt and pepper to taste.
