1 c. White Lilly self-rising cornmeal mix
1/2 c. White Lily self-rising flour
2 large eggs
2 tbsp. canola oil
1 c. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat Oven to 450°F.

Grease, large 12" cast iron skillet, heavily with crisco shortening, set this to the side while preparing the cornmeal.

DO NOT heat the pan before placing it in the oven.

Mix all of the ingredients together, pour cornmeal mix into greased pan and place into the oven for approximately 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Dump out onto cutting board, slice, and butter with Country Crock Butter while hot.

This was my grandmother’s recipe. We could always look forward to some good, hot cornbread coming out of the oven anytime we would come over. The table would be full of food and you could smell the fresh cornbread when you entered the door!
