2 cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. dry yeast
⅛ tsp. salt
1 large egg
½ tsp. vanilla extract
¼ cup oil
¾ to 1 cup warm milk
extra sugar for sprinkling

Egg Wash:
1 large egg
1 Tbsp. water or milk
⅛ tsp. vanilla extract, optional

Directions:

1. In a deep bowl combine dry ingredients well.
2. Add oil and mix.
3. Beat the egg with vanilla extract and mix.
4. Gradually mix in the warm milk until you achieve a dough that is soft but not too sticky.
5. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover and let it rise for two hours or until doubled.
6. Punch the dough, cover and let it rise for another two hours.
7. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts. roll each part into a ball, covering the other balls with plastic wrap so that they do not dry out.
8. Shape each ball into a rope, then shape them tucking the end under.
9. Place the rolls in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.
10. Cover and let it rise for another 30 mins.
11. Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
12. Brush the rolls with egg wash and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
13. Bake for 15-20 mins, checking them after 12 mins until they are golden brown.
