2 eggs
1/4 c. sugar
3 1/2 tsp. rounded baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 1/4 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. melted shortening or lard

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs, add next 3 ingredients and beat. Add milk, 1 c. of cornmeal and mix. Mix rest of cornmeal with flour and add. Add melted lard or shortening. Pour into hot cast iron skillet that has 3 tbsp. hot lard or shortening in it. Bake in 450 oven until brown. 15 or 20 minutes
