1 1/2 cups butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
1 T vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
2 T warm water
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup pastry flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup pecans

Directions:

Melt butter in microwave. Pour into mixing bowl and let cool 15-20 minutes. In the meantime: Toast pecans, chop and set aside. Dissolve baking soda in 2 T warm water, set aside. Mix together flours, baking powder, cinnamon and salt, set aside.

When butter has cooled, add sugars. Mix 4 minutes. Add dissolved baking soda.
Mix in dry ingredients 1/2 cup at a time. Stir in chips and nuts. Refrigerate 3 hours to overnight. Remove from fridge and allow to come to room temperature. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 10-13 minutes. Tops should spring back slightly.
