3 tablespoons butter
½ cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1½ cups flour
⅛ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ cup milk
½ cup Brer Rabbit Molasses

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the butter and sugar.
Add the beaten egg and mix well.
Sift together the flour, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and baking soda.
Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk and molasses.
Pour batter into a buttered 9 inch shallow pan.
Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F for 30–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
