6 cups white sugar
2 cans Evaporated Milk
1 T vanilla
1 cup Hershey cocoa
2 Sticks butter
Pinch of Salt
2 cups pecans

Generously butter your pan
In the Pot: Mix the sugar and cocoa breaking up any lumps
Add in 2 can evaporated milk. Mix well, get into the corners to be sure all is mixed well. Turn on the heat to medium 40 to 45 minutes stirring the whole time. Scrape the bottom of the pan with your spoon. There are 2 stages of boiling. The first is frothy and will bubble up high and even splatter outside the pot. The 2nd is lower rolling boil, it's darker. Cook to soft boil stage but you can tell when the spoon leaves a trail in the sugary mixture and you can briefly see the bottom of the pan.
Take off the heat, add the butter. Add in the pecans. A pinch of salt and 1 T of vanilla extract. Stir until the butter is incorporated and all melted. Pour into the half sheet pan 13x17 inch. This recipe makes what is considered a double batch. Let cool and cut
