2 c Flour
1/3 c Sugar
1 tbsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt

6 tbsp Cold butter
1/2 c. Heavy cream
1 large Egg
1 tsp Vanilla

Glaze (optional)
1 c. powdered sugar
1 - 2 tbsp Milk
1/2 tsp Vanilla

(additions - 1 c. strawberries & chocolate or candid ginger & lemon, or cranberry & lemon, or orange & chocolate )
Or no sugar and add cheddar cubes and chives, or sundried tomatoes and herbs)

Also can use: yogurt/sour cream/ buttermilk - then add 1/2 tsp of soda

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees
1. Mix the dry ingredients together.
2. Cut in the butter till the mixture is mealy
3. Stir the together the milk, eggs & vanilla and mix gently till the dough sticks together.
4. Turn onto a flour surface and gently knead into a disk.
5. Cut into 8 triangles, or use a round cutter or other shaped cutter.
6. Can brush with cream & sprinkle with sugar, or save and put glaze on, or for savory, brush with egg...
7. Chill for 15 min in the fridge
8. Bake for 18 - 20 min till nicely browned

Other flavours:
(additions - 1 c. strawberries & chocolate or candid ginger & lemon, or cranberry & lemon, or orange & chocolate, raspberry, apple cinnamon,blueberry, maple icing, salted caramel, brown butter icing)
Or no sugar and add cheddar cubes and chives, or sundried tomatoes and herbs)
