Ingredients:  
2 tsp. whole mixed pickling spice
2 clove garlic
2cup sugar
2 cup vinegar
2 cup water
1/2 tsp. powdered alum
Enough sliced banana peppers to fill 5 pint jars

Heat to boil all ingredients-except the peppers.
Place the sliced peppers in the 5 pint jars-packing them in tight.
Pour the hot mixture over the peppers.
Wipe the rims with paper towels dipped in vinegar.
Seal the jars with lids and rings, finger tighten only.
Water bath-rolling boil for 10 minutes.
