1 cup sugar
3 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch or tapioca to thicken
Pie crust for double layer

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Toss berries, sugar and thickener together and place in bottom of an unbaked pie shell.
Cover with top crust, slit top to allow juice to escape.
Bake about 1 hour until berries bubble and crust is brown.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Blackberries have a mind of their own.
You can't tell how juicy they are until you cook them.
They acually make a better dish when cooked with top crust only because they can be too runny for a pie, especially wild varieties.
If you have an abundant suppy, experiment with different amounts of thickeners to achieve the consistency you want.
