Apple Pie Squares Recipe

2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 cup shortening
1 egg yolk

Filling:
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
5 cups sliced apples
2 Tbsp. butter

Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. butter
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Stir together flour, salt, cut in shortening, add slightly beaten egg yolk and milk.
Stir with fork.
Roll; out dough to line a 9X13 cake pan with 1/2 of the dough.
Place apple slices on dough and sprinkle with sugar, flour and cinnamon.
Dot with butter.
Roll remaining half dough to cover apple mixture.
Bake for 45 minutes.
Cool slightly.
Frost with glaze.
