¾ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
¼ cup molasses
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tbs cinnamon
½ tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger
extra sugar for dipping cookies

Directions:
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy. Add egg and molasses and mix until blended.
2. Mix in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger until well blended.
3. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill until ready to bake. Chill for at least 30min.
4. Preheat oven to 375º, roll dough into 1¼" balls. Roll each ball in sugar and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
