1 tbs granulated sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

1 quart Crisco vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
Combine eggs, sugar, and salt; beat well. Add flour, milk, and vanilla and beat until smooth.

Heat rosette iron in deep hot oil (375º) for two minutes. Remove, drain off excess oil.
Dip hot iron into the batter to ¼ inch from top of rosette iron and then dip into the hot oil. Fry rosette till golden, about ½ minute. Lift iron out of oil, tip slightly to drain off any excess oil. With a fork, push rosette off iron onto paper towels to cool. Repeat the process for additional rosettes.

Place rosettes and 1/2 cup granulated sugar into a large Ziplock bag. Shake the bag to cover the rosettes with sugar. Remove from the bag and place rosettes on a serving plate.
